Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain (1981) is a cumulative picture book written by Verna Aardema and illustrated by and Beatriz Vidal. A cedar swamp in the back of her house served as her inspiration and retreat as a young aspiring writer. Biography: Verna Aardema was born in New Era, Michigan, in 1911. ![]()
